Our Team

Rebecca Carey, Co-President

This is Rebecca’s ninth year as a PTA and PTO volunteer and her third year serving on the Wading River School PTA Board. Rebecca has previously served as the school’s recording secretary and is honored to commit to a second year serving as Co-President. Becca, (as she’s known to those in her circle) has four children. Her oldest son is entering eighth grade, her twin daughters are entering sixth grade at Prodell Middle School and her youngest will start fourth grade in September. Becca loves children and can also be found substitute teaching in various classrooms throughout the district. Along with her PTA duties, Becca has a great passion for helping animals in need and works with several rescue groups to foster neglected and abused and often homeless dogs and puppies, as well as cats in their various stages of life. When not volunteering, Rebecca plays “Uber Mommy” shuffling her kids to and from their multiple sports and activities and can be found cheering her heart out on the sidelines. Becca is tremendously excited for the year ahead and always welcomes ideas, feedback, suggestions and volunteers. 2024/2025 is going to be the best year yet at WRS!

Jennifer Oliveri, co-president

This is Jen’s third year serving on the Wading River School PTA board and her first as our Co-President. She previously served as Wading River School PTA Vice President for two years, and was President at Prodell Middle School for two years.  She has daughters in 11th and 4th grades and a son in 6th grade.  She is a Girl Scout Troop leader as well.  Professionally she works as a physical therapist.

Deborah Aiello, Vice President

This is Deborah’s fourth year of being involved with the Wading River School PTA after a one-year hiatus. She previously served as Treasurer and President. Since her professional background is in marketing, she frequently lends us her website and design skills. With a son in 7th grade and a daughter in 3rd grade, she’s been continuously involved throughout our district. She is treasurer of SWR PTA Council and Prodell Middle School PTO, and previously served on the board of SWR Special Education PTA. Deborah is also a parent member on several Board of Education committees as an active voice for all students.

ALDA DARRAGH, TREASURER

This is Alda’s second year with the Wading River School PTA and is serving as Treasurer.  She moved to the district at the start of the school year in 2020 with her husband and daughter who is entering fourth grade in September.  She is looking forward to giving back to this great community through this service.  Alda is also a Girl Scout leader and is a Catechist at St. John the Baptist Church in Wading River.  Professionally, she works as a consultant for a Company in Bohemia providing accounting and tax services.

Ashley Hadjoglou, recording Secretary

After a two-year hiatus, Ashley Hadjoglou is excited to be back on an elementary PTA board. Her temporary break from the elementary scene has her energized and eager to see those smiling little faces again. Ashley's extensive experience on the boards of the Miller Avenue PTO, Wading River PTA, SWR PTA Council, and Wildcats Helping the Arts and Music (not to mention chairing way too many book fairs) brings lots of experience and a little crazy to the group. This year, she'll be taking on the role as Recording Secretary for the Wading River PTA. Additionally, Ashley will serve as Secretary at the SWR High School PTSA, Corresponding Secretary of WHAM, and Corresponding Secretary for Lax Out Cancer. Ashley believes in the mottos of "Full hands, full heart" and "Many hands make light work" and knows the great things the passionate people of SWR can do together.  With a 5th grader and 9th grader, Ashley is invested in making this a great year for all Wildcats. Let's do this!

Megan Fitzgerald, corresponding Secretary

This is Megan’s second year serving on the Wading River School PTA. She would often volunteer for events at Miller Avenue while her son attended. Now that he’s entering 4th grade, she’s very much looking forward to continuing her role as corresponding secretary and volunteering more. Megan, along with her husband, son and toddler daughter have been in the SWR area for 6 years. In those short 6 years, her whole family has made lifelong friends and love this amazing community!
